Representatives from the National Inventors Hall of Fame gave a presentation about their organization to TIPLA at the Toledo Club on January 20, 2016.
Vondea Sheaffer is Manager, Development & Endowment for Invent Now, the parent organization for the National Inventors Hall of Fame and has been with the organization four years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Akron and a Masters in Nonprofit Management from Kent State University. She works with corporations, foundations and individuals to secure private support for all Invent Now programs. She and her husband have three grown daughters and live in Hartville, OH.
Alex McCall is a Grants Writer for Invent Now and has been with the organization for one year. She has a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from The Ohio State University. She has a strong interest in social justice causes and secures funding for Invent Now’s children’s education programs. She is a resident of Doylestown, OH.
The NIHF website (www.invent.org) has a comprehensive database of information on each of the Inductees- from their patent numbers and universities to explanations of the invention for which they were nominated.
The Camp Invention website www.campinvention.org shares more specific information on the program and if you click Register you can search by zip-code or city for the nearest Camp program.
